Nhat Tan Bridge (Vietnam – Japan Friendship Bridge) is a multi-span cable-stayed bridge spanning the Red River (Hanoi). The main structure of the bridge is in the form of multi-span cable-stayed towers with 5 rhombus-shaped towers and 6 cable-stayed spans.
The bridge is currently the cable-stayed bridge project with the largest investment capital in Vietnam, up to 13,600 billion VND.
The total length of the project is 8,933m, of which Nhat Tan Bridge is 3,755.0m long, with a cross section of 33.2m according to the scale of the permanent design bridge.
The main bridge is a continuous cable-stayed bridge with 5 towers with a total length of 1,500m (main spans have a length of 300m). The road at both ends of the bridge has a total length of 5,178.8m. On the whole route, there will be 4 intersections, including 3 intersections of different levels.
According to the approved design, the Nhat Tan bridge project belongs to the ring road II of Hanoi, starting at Phu Thuong area, Tay Ho district, then running parallel and about 420m from Lac Long Quan street. After crossing the Red River by Nhat Tan Bridge (about 3.6km from Thang Long Bridge to the downstream), the project cuts National Highway 5 at Vinh Ngoc intersection, then goes straight to the North, crosses Thiep River and ends at Vinh Ngoc intersection. intersection with Nam Hong Street.
